Casitas de Villa Corona, an apartment community for very
low-income seniors 62 and older, is
in the heart of San Antonio’s West Side at 339 S.W. 39th Street.
The development includes 42 one-bedroom apartment homes.
Non-profit
Merced Housing Texas developed the community, which is
funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD), Bexar County, and the City of San Antonio.
HUD subsidizes a portion of the rents so that seniors do
not have to spend a burdensome amount of their income for
housing.
Casitas de Villa Corona opened in April 2012..
The apartment community is owned by Casitas de Villa Corona,
Inc. St. Louis Design Alliance designed the property, and Galaxy
Builders, Ltd. is the general contractor. Engineering work and
surveying were provided by Vickrey and Associates.
